FROM LAGOS TO GLOBAL STAGES
Before the lenses, lights, and backstage passes, there was just Olamiposi Olawale Daniel, a quiet observer raised in Lagos by a single mother. A lover of music and adventure, Oladaniel was always that one cousin with the phone, snapping photos at family gatherings until the hobby evolved into a calling.
“Photography had an aura. People respected photographers. I wanted that… then I realized I could make money from it too.”

THE SHOT THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
Before he was Davido’s right-hand lens, he was just a guy with a camera hanging around. But when Davido’s then-photographer sadly passed away, a void opened. That’s when one shot — from inside a car — changed everything. Davido followed him. Liked his posts. The rest, as they say, is history.
“That image caught his attention. If I hadn’t taken that photo, I don’t think I’d be here.”

PRESSURE, PACING & PERFECTION
Life on the road with a superstar isn’t as glossy as the feeds make it seem. Jet lag, spontaneous flights, 24-hour editing turnarounds, and little to no sleep are the norm. But Oladaniel’s secret? Precision and pacing.
“I count my shots. I don’t spray. I watch Davido through the viewfinder for minutes… then I click. One frame. That’s it.”

SHOOTER’S TOOLKIT
On tour, he rolls with the Sony A7R V, speedlights (his go-to), a universal adapter that never leaves his bag, and an eye trained to read the room before it gets wild. “I study every corner of the venue. I need to know how to move when the crowd comes.”

HIS WHY
Whether it’s watching Davido’s tireless energy or taking solo trips to refuel, Oladaniel’s inspiration always loops back to the craft.
“Start with love, not hype. Keep shooting. Someone’s watching. The world will catch up.”
