“Life itself is my biggest inspiration.”

That’s how Shoday — the Afro-fusion artist redefining cool — opens up in our shoot and sit-down session. Raised in Agege and rooted in hustle, Shoday’s journey began not with a mic, but with a phone camera. A content creator before becoming a crowd-moving performer, his early grind shaped the soulful rhythms he now brings to stages across Nigeria and beyond.

“I grew up in Agege and started out as a content creator. That hustle shaped my Afro-fusion sound.”

Shoday’s breakout track, ‘Caution’, captured local energy and turned it into a national moment — a vibe that pulsed from the street corners to playlists across the continent. Then came ‘Queen N More’, solidifying his place in the hearts of fans and the spotlight of the industry.

“Every beat I make is inspired by real life. I’m not here for quick fame — I’m here to build a legacy.”

On set, Shoday carries the calm confidence of someone who knows where he’s been and exactly where he’s going. Styled in bold cuts and deep textures, his fashion mirrors his music — grounded in culture, rich with emotion, and always on the edge of what’s next.

QUICK TAKE: SHODAY UNFILTERED

AWM: Tell us about your beginning.
Shoday: I’m from Agege. I started out creating content, but I always knew music was my end goal. I had to build a fanbase first. Once I felt the support, I dropped my first single — and it’s been up ever since.

AWM: How would you describe your sound?
Shoday: Afro-fusion — a perfect blend. I try to make music that soothes, that speaks to the soul. I pull from my environment, my struggles, my wins, and everything I’ve lived through.

As the cameras fade and the final shot locks in, it’s clear: Shoday isn’t just making music — he’s making memory. A creative grounded in truth, culture, and intention. And he’s just getting started.
